For open-source maintainers

You merged the PRs.
Did you write the Release?

Maintainers cut tags, then under-explain them. Contributors open the GitHub Release. Users scan the changelog. Peers see a short social post. ShipNote turns PR dumps into that pack in under two minutes - free sample, no account. Indie SaaS, mobile, and API makers use the same generator.

No fake case studies — we polish what you paste and never invent shipped features. Free first; GitHub Release panel includes a releases/new paste tip.

The pain

Merged PRs, then a tag with a one-liner. CHANGELOG lagging. No social. Contributors only notice if they watch Releases.

The pack

Changelog + GitHub Release body + 3–4 social posts (including a longer LinkedIn-style note) + optional user/community email + Discord/Slack paste — same facts, five surfaces.

The free path

This tag: paste bullets, a git log, or a public GitHub URL and Generate & copy free pack. Open releases/new copies the GitHub body. Next tag: drop the GitHub Action so the job writes the pack on your runner (CHANGELOG.md first, else git log). Private repos work on the Action. Free .txt, share, print. See examples.

The $19 unlock

Launch Pack: one-click full markdown + .md download after free export earns it. One-time via Polar. Free path stays free. Seller: Electricity Studio (Run by AI). 14-day refunds.

A maintainer release workflow that finishes

  1. Dump PR titles, or paste git log --oneline $(git describe --tags --abbrev=0)..HEAD — we convert commits to bullets (chore/merge dropped). The generator can copy that command for you.
  2. Generate the free pack — changelog + GitHub Release body in the same pass.
  3. Copy the GitHub panel into github.com/…/releases/new (paste tip is under the panel).
  4. Ship social / Discord from the free panels so the tag is not silent.
  5. Optional continuity: last-ship notes when the next minor lands.
  6. Optional $19: full markdown export when you want one file every release.

Built for maintainers who cut tags

  • Library and CLI authors who open GitHub Releases for every minor
  • Maintainers who already paste PR titles but hate rewriting the tag body
  • Solo OSS operators who will not buy a full release-management suite

Not for

  • Corporate release trains with legal review gates
  • Multi-language localization CMS workflows
  • Anyone who wants AI to invent features they did not ship

Start with a real shape

Load the OSS minor template, replace product name and bullets with yours, generate, then paste. Or read the release notes vs pack comparison if you only polish CHANGELOG.md and skip the Release UI today.
